Tons of update
I’m back with another update of my WoW’s world. Although I have not been posting, I am still crazily addicted to this game. So, here what were happening lately (it’s a long post - you have been warned):
1. The reason that I stopped posting was because I got a bit frustrated with this game. I wanted to see more content, meaning starting Kara and end-game instances. But, our guild is small. We only have 6 lvl 70s members, hence not enough to start even Kara. Our recruitment effort was also not going too well. We managed to recruit a couple people only to have them quit several days later. I think it’s because we all know each other in RL. Our guild leader and most of the members are brothers or roommates. Actually, I’m probably the most outsider from our RL connection. So, when we got on, we don’t really chat a lot. I guess there’s no need for small talk when most of them meet up regularly. It was one of our guild’s weaknesses - one that is tolerable to me, just because I do enjoy being with them - although it does take a while to be comfortable among them. We kinda recognized that this was the problem and we did promise that we would be more welcoming to new members. How to efficiently recruit someone (without poaching or anything)?
2. The second incident was on our first planned Kara run. Our healer P, knew someone from another guild and they planned to do a run together. All of our members show up on the day - fully prepared and, quite frankly, very excited. G even went all out with the flak and all. What happened afterward…we got ditched. That person started Kara without us, already joined with another group, without even the courtesy of informing us. Well, that guild is in my personal blacklist, even when P is more forgiving with the whole thing.
3. On the better news, E finally gotten her epic flying mount. Maybe I’ll break my rules and post a pic of her on the mount one of these days. And, related to the mount business, V is finally at the last stage of getting her mount. Now, if I could only get some people to help me do the quest, that would be nice. Now that E is zooming on a nether ray - farming is so much funner (and easier). I am hesitating to switch her to tailoring now ![]()
4. Our guild had started with heroic runs. Well, two to be exact
We did SH and Crypt. Oh boy, do we wiped a lot. It was a bit frustrating but an eye opener. We did so good on the regular run but all our imperfections came out on heroics. The good news though, we finished both run although it took us 3-4 hours each and huge repair bill. Crypt, in particular, was real hard on us. Well, we don’t have our mage that usually do CC and we kept on failing to target possessor first. One someone is MC-ed, we usually wiped. It was sad, but further during the run, we acquired some new tricks and that helped us with the wiping. The bosses in Crypt was pretty easy, I don’t think we wiped at all. On the other hand, SH, we actually managed to breeze through it with only a couple of wipe on the trash pulls. We used a lot of fear bomb, and with 2 warrior and a priest, we have a lot of chances to do it. The last boss, however, was the part that we got stuck for a long time. It’s mainly due to the charge ability that manage to kill a clothie in 2 shots - usually our mage. Once he went down, we don’t usually get any chance to down the boss. Anyway, I really want to do more heroics and I may start doing pugging.
5. Saving the best for last - I finally step my feet in Kara. It was all coincidence actually. When I was pugging on a run, I met up with a holy pally and expressed my interest to join up with her (it turn out that she is a he
) guild and do Kara. He still need to finish up his attunement. But two days ago, he contacted me and asked whether we are still interested in Kara run. He referred me to a raid leader of another guild that has been actively running Kara and is considering to form another group. They are also trying to find more people so that they don’t have to pug their Kara run. I told him that our guild leader and him should talk and discuss more about it. Well, it turned out yesterday, when G logged on, this raid leader guy was already in Kara. I didn’t want to be obtrusive, so I told the holy pally guy that we are ready to discuss whenever they are ready. I tried to pug heroic SV, but our group fell apart shortly. But not long afterward, I got a tell from this raid leader guy asking me whether I’m a shadow (which I am) and whether I want to join on their Kara run. Would I? Of course - I’m super excited - but I am worried that the people in my guild won’t like as much. I talked to G, and said that I was invited for a Kara run, and if he minded, I won’t go. G said go ahead since he doubted that we would run any Kara this week anyway.
So, I went in. Luckily I had most of the stuff that I need in my bag anyway so I didn’t have to ask them to wait while I prepare. The members of that guild are really pleasant - they chat and joked a lot. I really like the atmosphere of the run. Everybody seems very friendly, knows what they are doing, and very courteous. The raid leader, he took the time to explain each fight to me and whisper me once in a while to make sure that I am feeling okay.
Anyway, since they have been doing it for a while, we didn’t have much difficulties in the boss fight. I like it because I got to see more of Kara that way. To be honest, I was not expecting to get any drop (I still do anyway since they are all geared up already) - I just want to see Kara and experience the boss fight. Thank you so much for the invite. I would, for certain, get my guild there - one way or another. I want all of us to be able to see the inside of Kara. I hope that my relation with this guild can help us to reach this goal.
No commentsWhat am I up to?
Well, I am finally able to strike one goal from my list. Yes, E is finally 375 in her fishing skill. Now she’s happily fishing for crawdads and darters. She is also very closed in getting her epic flying mount. If I’m not losing focus, it will only be another week. I’ve decided that I want to get either the blue or purple nether ray. I’m super excited.
Next in plan is to farm for stashes of Netherbloom and Nightmare Vine so we could still get our mana/wizard oil. Then, the next plan is to change E to tailoring and super-leveling her tailoring skill. I can’t wait!
